The Cyclone BAKPAK™2 Bio-Filter is the second generation external, hang on the back, combination Protein Skimmer and Biological Filtration unit from CPR. The BAKPAK™ 2, like the original, is designed for tank sizes up to 60 gallons, but multiple units may be used for larger aquariums. Water first enters the Protein Skimmer column from the aquarium. It then flows through the biological chamber filled with Bio-Bale™ filtration media before returning to the aquarium.

The Protein Skimmer is driven by a rejuvenation venturi power head. Bubble dwell time is increased by the counter-current flow in the skimmer column. The quality of the foam collected can be controlled by raising and lowering the collection cup.

To set up the BAKPAK™ 2, hang the unit behind the aquarium and plug it in -- that's it. New improved design incorporates an easy to clean intake tube and an enclosed, directional outflow to reduce salt splash and micro-bubbles entering into tank. The new design also uses a smoke colored break-resistant collection cup.

New "Tri Chamber" design of the Bak-Pak 2R takes the place of the biological section, and when combined with a new and improved outlet design, provides an effective way to reduce bubbles caused by system imbalances.

This new Protein Skimmer from Precision Marine Systems incorporates the Super-Efficient "Bullet" to inject air/water into the mixing chamber and reaction column.  Precision Marine, in our opinion, makes the finest protein skimmers available and the Bullet Skimmer is the best they make.  

WOW, you say? So do we. Make no mistake, this skimmer will not tolerate a wimpy little submersible pump. A SEN900 or larger is required for the model one and the gen x for the two and three.

The Bullet Skimmer has been tested with several water pumps:

• SEN900  "works great!"
• GenX "will blow you away!"

Most Likely the Little Giant 3 & 4 Pressure Pumps, and the Iwaki 30 and 40 RLT's will drive this skimmer as well.
