Application:
Spread the Microbe Lift PL Gel directly to your filter pad or media. The gel will absorb into the media by letting it set for 1-2 hours before inserting back into the filter. After insertion turn off the pump for 1-2 hours, providing that the water can maintain adequate oxygenation without circulation.

Just dab it on or spread it across the entire matting. It can be applied to lava rock in a bio-upflow filter or dripped over spring-flo. It can be applied to filter pads after cleaning (and to new pads) for immediate reactivation at the following rates:

• 80-200 gallons - 2 oz. per pad application
• 201-500 gallons - 3 oz. per pad application
• 501-1,000 gallons - 4 oz. per pad application
• 1,001-5,000 gallons - 6 oz. per pad application

Maintenance
Repeat application of Gel each time you clean or replace your filter media, when nitrate levels exceed 0.6 mg/L, or as necessary to maintain optimum performance from your filter.

CrystalClear Nitrifier an all-natural bacteria and enzyme based product specifically designed to remove ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. CrystalClear Nitrifier contains special bacteria that will safely convert ammonia to nitrite and nitrite to nitrate via a process known as nitrification. Once this process is complete toxic ammonia has been converted to harmless nitrate which will be utilized by aquatic plants.

Ammonia is extremely toxic in its un-ionized form and non-toxic in its ionized form. This can be controlled by keeping pond water at low pH levels. At low pH levels ammonia will ionize and at levels higher than 7.2 ammonia begins to un-ionize and becomes more and more toxic. Fungus on the body appears as cotton wool like growths, it is hard to tell if a Koi has it in the gills, but if it hangs at the surface gulping for air it is likely.

Carp pox. A virus that produces solid waxy lumps on Koi. It will not kill Koi and is generally harmless, but can look unsightly. It is most often present in small Koi and in cold weather, clearing up disappearing when Koi grow and in the spring when water temperatures rise.

ICK (ICH)
Caused by Ichthyopthirius multifiliis. The white spots on the skin, gills and fins are individual protozoan cells that are under the skin and feed on the body fluids and cells. They then punch out of the skin and fall to the bottom of the pond, collect together and begin breeding, the offspring then re-infest the fish.
