NEW!!! This mogul based ReefStar 2 reflector is light weight, corrosion resistant and low profile (3.5" high) and is designed to suspend above the tank for maximum illumination. This unit comes complete with tempered glass lens and includes a hammertone reflector for maximum light intensity, mogul based socket, 20 ft cord with quick disconnect plug (14 ft with electronic ballast) and hanging wires. 175W 14K Metal halide bulb and ballast is included. Metal halide lighting is excellent for reef tanks and is the best choice in lighting for tanks with hard corals, clams, acropora and anemones. Supplemental actinic lighting is not needed. L16.5" x W10.25" x H3.5" The 175 watt 14K metal halide is bright ice white blue appearance, full spectrum - Outstanding color! This bulb will bring out the vibrant fluorescent colors in your fish and corals. Brighter than 175 watt 20K but with a similar actinic blue appearance. Very good for coral growth. Greater light output and brighter with better color stability consisting primarily of high spikes in 440-460nm (nanometer) range and additional smaller spikes in 550, 590 and 690nm.

  Finnex T5 fluorescent aquarium lighting is a relatively new light source in the United States that is quickly gaining in popularity. T5 fluorescent bulbs are 5/8" diameter fluorescent tubes rather than the standard 1½" diameter. This slim profile makes T5 fluorescents more efficient than standard fluorescent tubes. Other benefits of this qualith Finnex light are include lamp life, power efficiency, output per watt and small size which lends itself for multiple bulb systems. All of these fixtures feature fan cooled cast aluminum housings, clear UV sheilds, and brackets to lift the light off the water.
